Per the experts, it has been 14 days since my second COVID shot in my protocol. Therefore I declare that Cookie is fully protected to the best ability of my vaccine type, Pfizer. So I guess I have ripened.
Of course, Cookie isn't stupid. The vaccine is only 94% effective from full protection under the current risk set. So I am STILL going mask, when outside of our home, unless I am in a small group of known fully vaccinated people.
There are seven homes on our block and ALL of us will be fully vaccinated in two weeks. I am thrilled!

It isn't that I don't trust that vaccine. I do, and so should you. But Cookie has no need to press my luck, either. And you should do the same.
Get vaccinated. Be smart. Play smart. Live to see another day.
We are Half-Pfizered, but will also continue to mask even when the second prick gets done!
ReplyDeleteGood on you!
Good for all of us that do this. The husband ripens next week, and our friend Sarah the week following. So we are excited.
DeleteI am going to get my second AstraZenica jab tomorrow - and on 17th May (fingers crossed) pubs (who can already serve outside on terraces, but it's unseasonably cold out there so not even slightly tempted yet) and theatres re-open! Yay! Jx
ReplyDeleteWill be thinking of you. Thank you for getting the vaccine.
Deleteyou last paragraph says it all. I am fully baked (pfizer), spouse gets his second shot (pfizer) on may 4. I do not want to hang with anyone who is NOT fully vaxxed. and I don't want to do anything indoors yet.
ReplyDeleteI hear you.
DeleteI am happy for you. I am in your club! Fully Vax'd. It's nice. I get to be outside by myself with no mask. I sat at the prairie all day yesterday watching the deer. So much fun. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteIm half ripened. But then again I've always only been half ripened it seems.
ReplyDeleteMy next is may 18.
Next Tuesday? YAY!
DeleteEven without giving up all the precautions, I wish I could be joining all of you in your vaccinated state, but it has not arrived here yet!

Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWe're fully Moderna here and the best part was finally getting to see and finally hug our middle son and his wife. Like you, we'll be wearing our masks when out, practicing social distancing, and washing our hands because there are far too many covidiots out here! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYay!!!! I got to hold the neighbors puppy. Which isn't as good, but we don't have children, so for us it was really good.
DeleteWe are fully Pfizer here too, The Man and I. The Grandchild we're Raising won't be 16 until late September, so will have to wait until she Qualifies. We're still being cautious and avoid Covidiots because they still abound and we do live in a State with a Covidiot Governor who seems not to be concerned about anyone's Safety and Well Being, being fully ReTrumplican, he's on that Bandwagon of doom. You've given great advice, I do get concerned about the resilient variants and mutations getting a Stronghold in other Nations, lest they get a Foothold here and the Vaccines won't be as Helpful to keep us all out of the Morgue? I think this is gonna be around a while, I'm hopeful that as a Collective, Society will choose to do the Right thing and not just the Easy thing? We'll see... Herd Immunity I think probably won't ever happen, not with 30% being against Science or being Vaccinated.
ReplyDeleteAfter the news late last week, maybe sooner?
DeleteI trust the vaccine - just not other people.
