What a horrible story, especially for the young son who apparently witnessed this, but why would anyone collecting clams have a half-cocked gun? This guy is not exactly a candidate for Father of the Year--the gun could just have easily killed the son. --Jim

I feel bad for the child. But I suspect that the man was poaching. Why else would their be a loaded gun in a skiff?

ReplyDeleteThis is just so wrong in so many different ways! In search of game and clams?! When do those two activities occur simultaneously?
ReplyDeleteA friend sent this because I have a HORRIBLE shellfish (like ER STAT) allergy. "You were right, shellfish can kill you."
