When my Uncle Lou built his dream house on Stradella Road in Bel Air, overlooking LA, he installed these panels throughout the house to control everything and push of a button. It was in the 1950s and terribly futuristic. Although why anyone would need to open the garage door from one's bed side is beyond me.
And a martini instead of a Stella.
